Why Fusion Woodworks?

The name “Fusion Woodworks” came to mind when we were trying to capture the essence of making such furniture pieces, which effectively is a fusion of wood, epoxy, and metal. This name also captures the fusion of our experiences that lead us to design and build these pieces the way we do, to produce a piece of furniture that we would be proud to own in our own home.

Where do you source your wood slabs from?

Wood slabs can be sourced locally for maple or walnut, or nationally to obtain more exotic wood types such as Claro walnut, Mappa Burl or Bastogne Walnut. It really depends on the customer’s desires and once a piece is commissioned, back and forth discussions are initiated to source the perfect slab to suit the customer’s style and budget.

What does the price of a custom piece depend on?

The price of a custom piece is dependent on several factors: the type and size of the wood slab used, the volume of epoxy required, the types of legs desired, and the overall complexity of the design. A quote is prepared once the design is properly understood and typical prices are as follows: side table: $1000-1500, coffee table: $2500-$5000, dining table: $8000+.

What is the typical lead time for a custom piece?

From the time we receive the desired slab of wood, typical lead times are 3-4 weeks.
